Dear Friends of Agriculture:

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) is honored to host the 2022 Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture (SASDA) Annual Conference at Canaan Valley Resort. Canaan Valley is a West Virginia state park located in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains. This area is an ecological wonder where rippling streams are born, and clear night skies can mesmerize any would-be traveler.

Tours will include visits to facilities engaged in timber processing, the creation of energy, and agricultural research and production. Many of our visits will take place in Chesapeake Bay’s Potomac Headwaters region of the eastern seaboard where West Virginia farmers play an important role in the Bay’s restoration.

During our stay, we will enjoy fresh mountain air, clean streams and many of nature’s wonders, while indulging in West Virginia-grown foods. Get ready to relax with a true West Virginia experience focused on fishing, hiking, golfing, and sporting clays! No matter how you travel to the conference, this trip will provide a country-roads experience like no other.

We hope that you will enjoy a pleasant visit during this relaxing and informative week, and we trust that you will find Canaan Valley a family-friendly atmosphere with numerous activities for every age group. Our staff stands ready to assist you as you plan your trip to the Mountain State, and best of all, Canaan Valley has offered the same reduced room rate three days prior and three days after the conference.

We appreciate our many generous sponsors whose financial and in-kind contributions are making the 2022 SASDA conference possible. When you see any of these folks, please take a minute to express your appreciation. We look forward to hosting you!
